About the ISPU Workflow
The In-Store Pickup (ISPU) workflow enables you, the Store Associate, to pick an order and prepare it for the customer.
Customers select ISPU for their online orders for several reasons:
- They can avoid shipping charges.
- They often get the order faster, sometimes within hours, because the items may already be in stock in the store.
- They can be sure that the items are available.
ISPU benefits retailers, too. In many cases, customers who come into the store to pick up an online order buy additional items, increasing store sales.
This workflow comprises the pick process and the customer pickup process. The following sections are overviews of the processes. For details, see the applicable topics in the Related Topics dropdown.
The Pick Process
The pick process is the same for all workflows. In this process, you:
- Review the orders in your queue.
- Generate your pick tickets.
- Pick the items in the order. Procedures for picking vary; check with your store manager for the procedure used in your store.
- Confirm that the pick ticket is complete.
The Customer Pickup Process
This process is unique to ISPU. In this process, you:
- Prepare the order for pickup. Your store manager can tell you how your store does this.
- When the customer arrives, deliver the order to the customer.
- Have the customer inspect the order. If the customer does not accept one or more items, note the reason.
- Complete the pickup.
