About the Ship-from Store Workflow
The Ship-from Store (SFS) workflow enables you, the Store Associate, to pick an order from store inventory and pack it for shipment to the customer.
Retailers implement SFS for their online orders for several reasons:
- Increases revenue by enabling retailers to avoid out-of-stock situations at warehouses
- Increases margins on end-of-year merchandise because store inventory can still be sold at full price
- Decreases shipping time and expense because orders can be shipped from stores that are closer to the customer than the warehouse.

The Pick Process
The pick process is the same for all workflows. This process consists of the following main steps.
- Review the orders in your queue.
- Generate your pick tickets.
- Pick the items in the order. Procedures for picking vary; check with your store manager for the procedure used in your store.
- Confirm that the pick ticket is complete.
The Pack Process
After you have picked the order and confirmed the pick, it's time to pack the order for shipment. This process consists of the following main steps.
- Review orders that are ready to pack.
- Scan items into one or more packages.
- Generate packing slips and shipping labels for the packages.
- Confirm the shipment; adjust packages as necessary.
